Many brave stories have been told of the Wemarians, the conquerors of the Saltwash Sea and tamers of the wind. These islanders have developed the most advanced sailing technologies and enhance their capabilities with magics of their own. There are no other people who have journeyed further or established more vast trade than those of Wesmar.
With the city of Wesmar built on the shore of the largest island, in the shadow of a smoking volcano, it would be tempting to believe these were a fated lot, doomed to destruction, but the Wesmarians have flourished instead. Perhaps it was the volcano itself that inspired them to venture forth. Despite their many wars with the Skaldians to the north, the Wesmar’s islands are considered a utopia by many, and, indeed, it does seem that all are well fed and content with life in Wesmar, but one need only step out of line once to learn what that contentment is built upon.
